The Rules:

Just when you thought it was safe to pick a 13 point favorite playing at
home . . . HowiesPool Returns.

This year, the pool will be administered by BOTH Howard "Howie" Slomka and
by the far more tech-savvy Howie "Howard" Berk.   The rules are listed
below.  It the same as always - pick a team then hope like hell that they
don't choke.   $10 entry fee includes weeks of fun (except for Howie
Slomka's father who only gets ONE week.  Will this be the year he lives a
fortnight?)

Have fun, be safe, and remember what years of experience tells us:  avoid
the Titans in Week 1!!!

1.           One time $10.00 Entry fee to Howard Berk BEFORE you pick for
Week
1.  Mail it to me at home if you can't hand deliver it to me or wire it to
my off-shore account.(paypal)

If you see other players frequently, I encourage you to buddy-up and send
me
one check for multiple players, office mates, or family members, to save me
trips to the bank and reminder emails to the others.

            NO PICKING A TEAM IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR THE POOL.

2.           Pick ONE NFL TEAM each week during regular season to win its
game.
That's all you do.
We will be using a website again this year to input your
picks and look at the
results. We will be able to keep track of who paid and
who is still alive.
This makes it a lot easier than ever before.

Once you have clicked on the link you will be able to
enter your Pick for
this week and enter your name. I will have posted
lines on that Tuesday or
Wednesday for reference. Then just hit submit and i
will post all the
picks before game day!!

If you click on standings it will show you who picked
what and who is still
alive...

Picks must be in before kickoff (obviously)  All picks will be handled
through that address and
NOT through my work address, home address or by leaving notes on my front
door.

3.           If your team wins, you live to the next week, and so on.  One
loss/tie and you are out.

4.           ONCE YOU PICK A TEAM, YOU MAY NOT PICK THAT TEAM AGAIN.

5.           Last player left takes the pot, less 10% which will be donated
to
the United Way, the NFL's charity of choice.    If all remaining players
lose on the same week, they all get their $10 back, but play on to
determine
1 winner.   Final week (if necessary) will require guessing scores.  Pool
does NOT include playoffs.  As if you will live past week 7!

6.           If you fail to pick a team, you are out.  NO mercy rule this
year.
Them's the rules, so remember to pick!  Vacations, computer crashes etc.
are
no excuse.  If you forget to pick by Sunday, you are still free to pick a
Monday Night Football team so long as you pick before MNF kickoff.  If you
already picked them both, tough luck.  Pick in advance if you wish to avoid
this harsh result.

7.           I am the Commissioner.  My decisions are final.  Good Luck.
